Yes. Lothian Pallets is a trade-only, business-to-business supplier. We deliver ISPM15 export pallets and Euro (EPAL) pallets by the full load to manufacturers, food and drink producers, distributors and 3PL operators across Edinburgh, Livingston, Bathgate, Dalkeith, Musselburgh and the wider Lothians. Orders start from around 50 pallets and scale to scheduled weekly contract volumes.

The standard UK pallet measures 1200 × 1000 mm (47.2 × 39.4 in). The Euro (EPAL) pallet measures 1200 × 800 mm (47.2 × 31.5 in). We supply both as standard for bulk orders.

An ISPM15 pallet is a wooden pallet heat-treated to a core temperature of 56°C for at least 30 minutes and stamped with the international IPPC mark. ISPM15 is the global standard for wood packaging used in export. If you ship goods outside the UK, your pallets almost always need to be ISPM15-compliant to clear customs. Lothian Pallets supplies fully certified, IPPC-stamped ISPM15 export pallets.

ISPM15 is a treatment standard: heat treatment plus an IPPC stamp that makes a pallet legal for international export, and it can apply to different sizes. A Euro (EPAL) pallet is a specific 1200 × 800 mm pallet built to the EPAL standard for pooled and pan-European supply chains. Euro pallets can also be ISPM15-treated for export. In short, ISPM15 is about compliance and EPAL is about size and specification.

As a general guide, a standard timber pallet supports up to around 1,000 kg as a dynamic load (while being moved), up to roughly 4,000 kg as a static load (resting on the floor) and about 1,000–1,250 kg in beam racking. Exact ratings depend on the pallet's construction, timber and board thickness, so tell us your load and we'll recommend the right specification.

As a rough guide: a 20ft container holds about 10–11 standard (1200 × 1000 mm) pallets or 11 Euro pallets on the floor; a 40ft container holds about 20–21 standard or 23–24 Euro pallets; and a standard 13.6 m curtain-side trailer holds about 26 standard pallets or 33 Euro pallets single-stacked. Double-stacking increases these numbers where the load allows.
